Baseball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Freeport hit Jefferson with a four-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The J-Hawks came up short against the Pretzels, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pretzels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on Wednesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Freeport, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

Coming up, Jefferson will challenge Rockford Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Freeport, they will face off against Mather at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pretzels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rangers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
