Ramapo comes up short despite Peyton Seals' dominant performance

Recap: Ramapo Raiders vs. St. Peter's Prep Marauders

The Ramapo Raiders were the 58-54 winner over the St. Peter's Prep Marauders when they last played one another back in January of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Ramapo was dealt a 73-46 defeat at the hands of St. Peter's Prep on Monday. While losing is never fun, Ramapo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while St. Peter's Prep is ranked fourth).

Despite the loss, Ramapo still got an impressive performance from Peyton Seals, who scored 16 points. Seals scored a full 34.8% of Ramapo's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Goldman, who scored eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Ramapo and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for St. Peter's Prep, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ramapo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bergen Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd. St. Peter's Prep is on the road again on Wednesday and play against North Star Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 3rd.
