Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Dale County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Ashford 7-5.

Shayleigh Whitman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 17 over ten innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-6 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Dale County got a big performance out of Bre Wilkerson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-6. Those three hits gave Wilkerson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mah-Xariah Andrews, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Dale County's victory bumped their record up to 21-10. As for Geneva, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
