Preview: Elder Panthers vs. St. Charles Cardinals
After two games on the road, Elder is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the St. Charles Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Elder has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Elder scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Archbishop McNicholas with a sharp 69-47 win. Considering Elder has won three games by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, St. Charles didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Newport Central Catholic on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 42-36 win. The win was all the more spectacular given St. Charles' disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 666th in Ohio, while Newport Central Catholic is ranked 158th in Kentucky).
Elder pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for St. Charles, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
