Basketball Recap: Lodi Comes Up Short

Lodi was the 63-54 winner over New Milford when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lodi Rams came up short against the New Milford Knights on Tuesday, falling 69-46. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 23 points.

Leading New Milford to victory were Luis Placido and Dariel Liranzo. Placido went 11-for-19 en route to 25 points in addition to seven steals and five assists, while Liranzo went 10-for-19 to rack up 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Placido's 12th in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Johnson, who posted two points and three steals.

Lodi now has a losing record of 11-12. As for New Milford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Lodi will challenge Pascack Hills on February 27th. As for New Milford, they will face off against Emerson on February 26th. New Milford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.2 points per game this season.
