Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montezuma-Cortez). They walked away with a 78-69 win over the Rehoboth Christian Lynx on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Leading Montezuma-Cortez to victory were Trey Hall and Caidin Leonard. Hall went 8 for 13 on his way to 23 points and six steals, while Leonard posted 20 points and four steals. Those six steals gave Hall a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tay Wheat, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points.
Montezuma-Cortez smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.
