Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxford). They never let the Pleasant Valley Raiders get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellow Jackets considering their two-run performance the match before.
Nick Richardson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Richardson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Oxford got a massive performance out of Reid Maniscalco, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Maniscalco a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Hudson Gilman, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Oxford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
