Softball Game Preview: Longview Lobos vs. Rockwall Yellowjackets

For the first time this season, Longview will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. They will be playing at home against the Rockwall Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Longview got the win against Pittsburg by a conclusive 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rockwall had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Bulldogs.

The win made it two in a row for Longview and bumps their season record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rockwall, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Longview beat Rockwall 3-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2020. Will Longview repeat their success, or does Rockwall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
