The victory was some much needed relief for Arizona College Prep as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Arizona College Prep found their leader in underclassman Zach Cutler, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Alex Neill, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Poston Butte's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Combs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Poston Butte in their matchups with Combs: they've now lost three in a row.
Arizona College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Poston Butte, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.
Arizona College Prep took their win against Poston Butte in their previous matchup last Wednesday by a conclusive 75-52. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Poston Butte's Dutch Martinez, who scored 22 points.
