Volleyball Recap: Calhoun Yellow Jackets vs. Allatoona Buccaneers        
        
		
             Calhoun lost against Allatoona back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Thursday. The Calhoun Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Allatoona Buccaneers by a score of  3-2. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now lost three in a row.
 Calhoun took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 26-24, 21-25, 22-25, 25-21,  15-13.
 Calhoun's loss  came despite strong showings from  Kate Watson and  Gracison Saylors.  Watson  had five  aces and 17  assists, while  Saylors  had 27  kills, 11  digs, two  blocks,  and two  aces. Saylors is  on a roll when it comes to  kills, as she's  now  had five or more in the last 59 games she's  played dating back to last season.
 Even though they lost, Calhoun  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 13  aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Allatoona only served six.
 Allatoona can attribute much of their success to  Destiny Brown, who  had 15  digs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Bri Mcveigh, who  had 15  digs.
 Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 15-23. As for Allatoona, their victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 25-11.
 Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Allatoona, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Southeast Whitfield County at 5:30  p.m. The last three games Allatoona has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
