Soccer Game Preview: Sam Houston vs. Comeaux

The Sam Houston Broncos are taking a road trip to face off against the Comeaux Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Comeaux took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sam Houston, who comes in off a win.

Sam Houston will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Thursday, then bounced right back against David Thibodaux on Friday. The Broncos never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Sam Houston's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while David Thibodaux are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, Comeaux has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the 13th. They fell just short of Carencro by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Comeaux's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-4. As for Sam Houston, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 7-10-3.

Sam Houston was able to grind out a solid win over Comeaux in their previous meeting back in November of 2025, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
