Softball Recap: Johnston Takes Down Ranked Lincoln

Johnston faced Lincoln in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Lions. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 5-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Haley Boudreau's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Johnston's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bella Boudreau, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Johnston's record now sits at 9-5. As for Lincoln, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-7.
