Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-4 to the Paloma Valley Wildcats. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 12-11 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kenya Ponce and Allie Garcia stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ponce scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Garcia scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Paloma Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will welcome Hillcrest at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give Heritage their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Paloma Valley, they will be playing at home against Orange Vista at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Orange Vista will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
