Football Recap: Concordia Lutheran Crusaders vs. St. Thomas Catholic Eagles

After flying high against Savio last Friday, Concordia Lutheran came back down to earth. The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders received a blow on Thursday as they fell 27-9 to the St. Thomas Catholic Eagles. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

St. Thomas Catholic was led to victory by Roy Thomas Jenkins and Oliver Ljuboja. Jenkins threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns, while Ljuboja picked up 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Concordia Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for St. Thomas Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concordia Lutheran will take on Antonian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Antonian Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Concordia Lutheran likes a good challenge. As for St. Thomas Catholic, they will square off against St. Michael's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
