Recap: Rye Thunderbolts vs. Manitou Springs Mustangs

The Rye Thunderbolts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 40-19 defeat at the hands of Manitou Springs. Rye found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.

Abrianna Chianelli and Taci Ehrlich certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Chianelli scored three points along with five steals, while Ehrlich scored two points along with seven rebounds.

Leading Manitou Springs to victory were Brooklynn Sheffield and Tori Greene. Sheffield almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, while Greene scored 12 points along with five steals. Sheffield is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Blechman, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
