Basketball Game Preview: Macomb Bombers vs. Farmington Farmers

The Macomb Bombers will head out on the road to square off against the Farmington Farmers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Macomb has four straight wins, Farmington has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Saturday, Macomb humbled Astoria/VIT with a 69-12 victory. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Farmington lost 49-26 to Illini West last Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Chargers are ranked 269th).

Macomb pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Macomb beat Farmington 55-46 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Does Macomb have another victory up their sleeve, or will Farmington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
