Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Bailey Daniels and Skylar Hottenstein

It was a good run, but Humboldt unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Riverton Rams. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Humboldt was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 15 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Humboldt had strong showings from Skylar Hottenstein, who had ten digs, and Bailey Daniels, who had five assists and four digs.

Humboldt's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Riverton, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3-1.

Looking ahead, Humboldt will host Caney Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverton, they will venture away from home to challenge Galena at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
