Baseball Recap: Heritage Beats Atlee for Their 11th Straight Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Heritage had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the Atlee Raiders get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Pride sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

The result came thanks to Aaron Van Tuyle's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Heritage is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Olszewski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Heritage's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Atlee, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3.

Coming up, Heritage will take on Woodgrove at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pride 4.1, the Wolverines 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Atlee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
