Recap: Perkins-Tryon Demons vs. McLoud Redskins
The Perkins-Tryon Demons entered their tilt with the McLoud Redskins with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Perkins-Tryon took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 40-13 victory over McLoud. Considering Perkins-Tryon has won five matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Perkins-Tryon had a senior duo take command as Beckham Smith rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only six carries and Eric Stevenson rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Smith was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cutter Greene, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Although McLoud took the loss, they still got scores from Zaylun Matlock and Coulson Kennedy.
Perkins-Tryon's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points per game. As for McLoud, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Perkins-Tryon will head out on the road to face off against Mannford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mannford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Perkins-Tryon is ranked 35th). As for McLoud, they will be playing at home against Mount St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount St. Mary has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 8.
