Baseball Game Preview: Portland Panthers vs. Macon County Tigers

For the second straight game, Portland will face off against Macon County. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Portland fell victim to Macon County and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 4th.

For Macon County's part, Eli Carver tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayes Polston, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

The victory was the third in a row for Macon County, bringing their record up to 13-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Portland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.
