Volleyball Recap: Madera Takes a Loss

Madera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Sanger West Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Coyotes of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 23-25, 25-13.

Leading Sanger West to victory were Ariel Vang and Payton Phimmachack. Vang had four aces and three digs, while Phimmachack had eight digs. That's the most aces Vang has posted since back in August.

Madera's loss dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Sanger West, they moved to 19-15 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Madera is set to square off against their familiar foe Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sanger West will take on rival Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
