Baseball Recap: Aspen Takes a Loss

Gunnison hit Aspen with a seven-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Skiers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-7 to the Cowboys, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Skiers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Dylan Mika was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Thor Raarup, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Aspen's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Gunnison, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Aspen beat the Cowboys by a score of 2-1 later that day.
