Baseball Recap: Medomak Valley Triumphs

Medomak Valley won the last time they faced Erskine Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 5-1.

Donnie Havener spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Wyatt Simmons was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Gabe Lash was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Medomak Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Erskine Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Medomak Valley will head out to challenge Oceanside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mariners' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Erskine Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Leavitt at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
