Volleyball Recap: New Covenant Starts Season with Win Against Temple Christian

New Covenant gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Temple Christian Crusaders with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Gryphons haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

New Covenant not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Temple Christian between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.

Ava Boettger paced New Covenant's offense, picking up 16 kills. Boettger got some help from Ada Dudley and her 29 assists.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Covenant will square off against Brunswick Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Temple Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westover Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on the 26th.
