Softball Game Preview: Angola Hornets vs. Leo Lions

Angola is 0-10 against Leo since May of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Hornets will take on the Lions at 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Angola came up short against Garrett and fell 4-1. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Leo waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Patriots. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly three runs.

Leo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carley Funk, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Ella Moore was another, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Leo pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Angola, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Angola might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Leo in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
