Basketball Recap: Elder's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elder won the last time they faced Fairfield and things went their way on Saturday too. The Elder Panthers walked away with a 61-54 victory over the Fairfield Indians. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Indians are ranked 29th).

The victory was the third in a row for Elder, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Fairfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.

When Elder and Fairfield next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Elder will try to stop Bishop Verot's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Fairfield will try to stop Lakota West's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
