Baseball Recap: Cassadaga Valley Cougars vs. Frewsburg Bears
Cassadaga Valley extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-8 in the process. They lost 20-1 to the Frewsburg Bears. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-0 defeat last Tuesday.
As for Frewsburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for Frewsburg, who have now won 12 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
For Frewsburg's part, Maddox Sheesley and Mason Eckman did most of the damage at the plate: Sheesley went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Eckman went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Sheesley is becoming a predictor of the Bears' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5-1 when he doesn't). Blake Weaver was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.
