Softball Recap: Voyager Academy Takes a Loss

Voyager Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oxford Prep Griffins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

Voyager Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Minor, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Sarah Gaylord also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Voyager Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oxford Prep, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Voyager Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-0 win against Durham Academy on the 25th. As for Oxford Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against South Granville on the 23rd.
