Basketball Recap: Charlotte Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Arborbrook Christian Academy

Charlotte Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 92-57 win over the Arborbrook Christian Academy Falcons. The Knights not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since December 6, 2024 (when they won 86-42).

Charlotte Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matty Carroll, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 23 points. The contest was Carroll's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Miller, who shot 75% from beyond the arc en route to 21 points.

Charlotte Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Ethan Jones and Ezra Briles certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Jones posted 21 points and five assists, while Briles went 6-for-11 to rack up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Kyral Collins, who scored six points and five boards.

Arborbrook Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlotte Christian will host SouthLake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Arborbrook Christian Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on NorthPoint Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
