Softball Recap: Boling Takes a Loss

If Boling was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Rice Consolidated last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Boling came up short against Sweeny on Tuesday, falling 12-6. Boling hasn't had much luck with Sweeny recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Jailianna Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she's hit this season.

Boling's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sweeny, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coming up, Boling will take on Tidehaven in a tournament on Thursday. As for Sweeny, they will challenge Almeta Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Almeta Crawford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
