Volleyball Game Preview: St. Charles Fighting Saints vs. Rushford-Peterson Trojans

The St. Charles Fighting Saints will square off against the Rushford-Peterson Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

St. Charles lost 3-0 to Pine Island on Thursday. The Fighting Saints have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Rushford-Peterson came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 3-1.

Rushford-Peterson walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23.

St. Charles better keep an eye on Avree Connaughty. She was instrumental in Rushford-Peterson's win, getting four digs and four aces. That's the most aces Connaughty has posted since back in October of 2024.

Rushford-Peterson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.

St. Charles' loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Rushford-Peterson, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
