Baseball Game Preview: Smith-Cotton Tigers vs. Jefferson City Jays

For the second straight game, Smith-Cotton will face off against Jefferson City. The Tigers will take on the Jays at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Smith-Cotton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Jefferson City on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to the Jays.

Smith-Cotton got a good showing from Adam Rowe, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Rowe has allowed over his last five matchups.

On the hitting side, Smith-Cotton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Wiskur, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Jayden Archibeque, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Jefferson City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.9 runs. As for Smith-Cotton, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.
