Softball Recap: Dover Beats Conotton Valley for Their Third Straight Victory

Dover extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 19-3 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Conotton Valley Rockets. That's more bragging rights for the Crimson Tornadoes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jenna Molk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Avery Contini was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

As for Conotton Valley, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 20-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Conotton Valley's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Maddison Kelley gave up only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Conotton Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Kelley, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dover will challenge Madison Comprehensive at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Conotton Valley, they will face off against Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
