Volleyball Recap: Stuart Comes Up Short

Stuart was the 2-1 winner over Fullerton when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Broncos fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Stuart sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-21.

Paityn Sheffield paced Stuart's offense, picking up nine kills. Sheffield got some help from Kyra Tubbs and her 15 assists. Finally, Sheffield was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Stuart has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Fullerton, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.

Coincidentally, Stuart and Fullerton will both be playing Chambers/Wheeler Central the next time they take the court. The Broncos will head out to face the Renegades at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
