Baseball Recap: Spring Hill Find Success

While Spring Hill's victory against Coffee County Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders won by a run and slipped past the Red Raiders 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won seven in a row.

Spring Hill got a great performance from Ethan Christie as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Christie a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Clay Robinson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Spring Hill: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise. Gary Cox was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Spring Hill's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Coffee County Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

Spring Hill will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
