Football Recap: Powers Catholic Takes a Loss

Powers Catholic extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They had to suffer through a 48-7 loss at the hands of the Freeland Falcons. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.

As for Freeland, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1. Considering they have won three matchups by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker Lentner, who rushed for 152 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. Those 152 rushing yards gave Lentner a new career-high. Karson Worth was another key player, picking up 90 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Looking ahead, Powers Catholic will square off against Frankenmuth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Chargers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Freeland, they will venture away from home to take on Alma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
