Michael Anthony Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Cortez got the W thanks in part to Michael Anthony playing the best football he has all season. Anthony rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.
If the past is any indication, Anthony could be in store for another big game when he takes on Camp Verde on Friday. Anthony rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries the last time he and the Cowboys duked it out back in October of 2023.

Mountainside Gets a Boost from Gregg in 28-8 Defeat
While Daniel Gregg delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Mountainside. Despite the defeat, Gregg was still balling out as he rushed for 56 yards, and also threw for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Mountainside is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3. Gregg and Mountainside will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Greyhills Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 17th.
