Soccer Game Preview: Mount Miguel vs. Foothills Christian

The Mount Miguel Matadors and the Foothills Christian Knights will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Things were looking good for Mount Miguel after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Bayfront Charter by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Foothills Christian has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They fell just short of Mountain Empire by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 941st, while the Redhawks are ranked 394th).

Foothills Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7-1. As for Mount Miguel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1.

Mount Miguel might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Foothills Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Mount Miguel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
