Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Warriors vs. Veterans Memorial Patriots

The Cornerstone Christian Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Veterans Memorial Patriots at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Veterans Memorial took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cornerstone Christian, who comes in off a win.

Cornerstone Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Dream City Christian National last Saturday. Cornerstone Christian walked away with a 57-48 victory over Dream City Christian National.

Meanwhile, Veterans Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a blow against Tivy, falling 69-39. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 962nd, while the Antlers are ranked 210th).

Veterans Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Cornerstone Christian took a serious blow against Veterans Memorial when the teams last played back in December of 2020, falling 67-32. Can Cornerstone Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
