Softball Recap: Farmersville Wins Going Away Against Pottsboro

While Farmersville put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Pottsboro. The Farmersville Farmers put the hurt on the Pottsboro Cardinals with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Farmers have beaten the Cardinals the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cardinals has come to flipping the script.

Bella Holland was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Farmersville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Farmersville's record is now 4-5-2. As for Pottsboro, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Coming up, Farmersville will head out on the road to square off against Mount Vernon at 11:50 a.m. on Friday. Mount Vernon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Farmersville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pottsboro, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals challenge the Panthers at 11:50 a.m. on Friday.
