Volleyball Recap: Trego Comes Up Short

Trego was the 2-1 winner over Plainville when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Eagles fell 2-0 to the Cardinals on Tuesday. Golden Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cardinals since Tuesday.

Trego may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 21 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21.

Bailey Ziegler paced Trego's offense, picking up eight kills. Ziegler got some help from Cambrey Klitzke and her 12 assists. Maura Albers controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Trego has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Plainville, their record now sits at 8-17.

Coincidentally, Trego and Plainville will both be playing Ellis the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Railroaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Golden Eagles will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
