Soccer Game Preview: Roeper vs. Southfield Christian

The Roeper Roughriders will challenge the Southfield Christian Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Roeper's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Roeper came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Plymouth Christian Academy, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Southfield Christian entered their tilt with Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Sentinels 7-1. Fans of Southfield Christian have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Southfield Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Roeper, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Roeper beat Southfield Christian 2-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Roughriders repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
