Basketball Recap: Wilson Magnet Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Wilson Magnet duked it out withGeneva on Friday. The Wilson Magnet Wildcats fell 45-33 to the Geneva Panthers. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Geneva's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kate Good, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 15 points and three steals. Trinity Maxon was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double on ten points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.

Wilson Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Geneva, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson Magnet will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East at 6:30 p.m. on January 20, 2025. Geneva also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Honeoye at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
