Basketball Recap: R-S Central Drops Season-High Score on Asheville

R-S Central scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 64-50 bruising from the Asheville Cougars. The Hilltoppers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why R-S Central lost, don't look at Lai Flack. Despite the final result, she posted 27 points. With that strong performance, Flack is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. Niah Fritts was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Asheville was led to victory by Hayziah Dillingham and Zaryah Tucker. Dillingham dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists, while Tucker went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points and six assists. Those ten assists gave Dillingham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Saunders, who put up 12 points.

R-S Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Asheville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

R-S Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 37-31 win against Brevard on the 3rd. As for Asheville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-50 defeat against Erwin on the 3rd.
