Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Thunderbirds vs. Chavez Titans

Kennedy hasn't had much luck against Chavez recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Kennedy Thunderbirds will take on the Chavez Titans at 6:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Kennedy is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Shafter.

Meanwhile, Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 58-37 to Strathmore.

Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Kennedy took a serious blow against Chavez in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 70-42. Thankfully for Kennedy, Jesus Martinez (who went 8 of 13 on his way to 23 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
