Basketball Recap: Mt. Vernon's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fair Grove, Mt. Vernon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-55 win over the Buffalo Bison. For the Mountaineers, this counts as revenge for the 49-42 victory the Bison walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Buffalo lost, don't look at Braden McGregor. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 16 on his way to 26 points and seven assists. Blair Abraham was another key player, putting up five points along with 11 rebounds and seven blocks.

Mt. Vernon moved to 8-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Buffalo, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

When Mt. Vernon and Buffalo next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Mt. Vernon will try to stop Aurora's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. Meanwhile, Buffalo will square off against Forsyth and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
