Preview: Selinsgrove Seals vs. Montoursville Warriors
The Selinsgrove Seals will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Montoursville Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Selinsgrove has five straight wins, Montoursville has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Selinsgrove blew past Hollidaysburg, posting a 48-7 win at home. The result was nothing new for Selinsgrove, who have now won six contests by 30 points or more so far this season.
Tucker Teats continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 190 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also catching a touchdown. Teats' longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards. Another player making a difference was Mark Pastore, who threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Montoursville ended up a good deal behind Jersey Shore on Friday and lost 38-21. While losing is never fun, Montoursville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Jersey Shore is ranked 62nd).
Montoursville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Christian Banks, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and Nate Fisher who gained 99 total yards and a touchdown.
Selinsgrove's victory lifted them to 7-0-1 while Montoursville's loss dropped them down to 3-4.
Selinsgrove strolled past Montoursville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 21-7. Will Selinsgrove repeat their success, or does Montoursville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
