Basketball Recap: Crater Comets vs. North Eugene Highlanders
Crater lost against North Eugene back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Crater Comets fell 71-60 to the North Eugene Highlanders.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Eugene to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Gray, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. That's the most points Gray has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was D'Mariyae Ireland, who went 6 of 13 to rack up 20 points and three steals.
Crater has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for North Eugene, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Ashland the next time they take the court. Crater will head out to face Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while North Eugene will host them at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
