Shaktoolik is 9-1 against Shishmaref since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Shaktoolik Wolverines will face off against the Shishmaref Northern Lights at 4:00 p.m. Shaktoolik will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Two weeks ago, Shaktoolik was fully in charge, breezing past James C Isabell 76-27. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Shishmaref had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They walked away with a 60-48 win over the Huskies.

Shishmaref found their leader in freshman Elizabeth Kokeok, who posted 18 points. Kokeok's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Loretta Sinnok, who scored ten points.

Shaktoolik's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Shishmaref, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Everything came up roses for Shaktoolik against Shishmaref when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 78-46 victory. Will Shaktoolik repeat their success, or does Shishmaref have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
