Rogue River and Illinois Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Chieftains will venture away from home to square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rogue River has given up an average of 35.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rogue River is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 65 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Lost River on Friday. They were dealt a 51-6 loss at the hands of the Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Raiders are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Illinois Valley took a blow against St. Mary's on Saturday, falling 60-28. The Cougars have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Illinois Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Rogue River, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.

Rogue River took a serious blow against Illinois Valley in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 55-14. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Chieftains were down 48-0.
